Vacuum Casting

Vacuum casting is a low-cost but reliable method for making a smaller number of high quality prototypes based on a master model. This method is ideal for plastic samples used in engineering testing. Vacuum casting is making a mold up by silicone rubber base on a master mold created from CNC machining or one of rapid prototyping.

Advantages of vacuum casting:

Low cost, no need investment in expensive as steel mold

High-fidelity of the mold gives excellent surface or no post-processing

Many different mold polymers are available that can be pigmented per color requirements

Molds can be ready in 2 or 5 days once the master pattern ready

Molds are durable up to approximately 30 copies

Overmolding is also can be made by vacuum casting, different types and hardness of plastic can be molded together into a single unit

Its and excellent option for testing multiple variations of a prototype design for product development.
